A trade publication is a magazine, journal, or newspaper that is published for a particular profession, such as banking, advertising or teaching.

Trade publications are often published by a professional association.  The articles are usually written by members of that profession.  Trade publications frequently publish notices of job openings, future conferences, educational opportunities, news of interest to the profession and relevant product advertisements.

Advertising Age, Drug Store News, Library Journal and Women's Wear Daily are examples of trade publications.
